Devesh's Workshop
Beyond Bollywood hosted a unique dance workshop featuring Devesh Mirchandani, a talented young dancer from India known for his classical renditions of Bollywood songs. The workshop took place from November 8 to 12 in Hong Kong. This was a special opportunity for participants to learn from this young Bollywood dancing master and gain the chance to chat with him about his experiences and insights.
In addition to the dance workshops, there was also a special sharing session titled DanceXchange on November 10, where participants engaged with Devesh over food and discussed their dance experiences.

Diwali event (HSBC) 2019
Beyond Bollywood was honored to participate in the HSBC Hong Kong Diwali Celebrations 2019 on October 22, featuring two dance performances. The Diwali celebration is a longstanding HSBC tradition, and Beyond Bollywood was delighted to bring joy and laughter through our performances, lighting up the night with festive spirit.

HK DANCE BRIDGE PROGRAM 2019 - Athens
Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival in ATHENS GREECE
The 7th “Bollywood and Multicultural Dance Festival” took place from July 5 to 7, 2019, at the Dora Stratou Theatre in Athens, Greece. Organized by the Artistic Studio Oriental Expression and the 1st Bollywood Academy Greece, the festival was held under the aegis of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) and the International Dance Council (CID-UNESCO), in collaboration with the Indo-Hellenic Society for Culture and Development (ELINEPA).
Beyond Bollywood was honored to participate in this event, performing and exchanging ideas with renowned Bollywood dancers from around the world. The festival provided a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, celebrating the diversity of dance and fostering connections among artists from various backgrounds.
Sibu International Dance Festival
The Sibu International Dance Festival is the largest dance event in the central region of Sarawak, Malaysia, showcasing various dance forms and performing arts from around the world. Organized by the Sibu Raia Dance Troupe, the festival has been held annually since 2012, attracting around 200 dancers from both local and international backgrounds.
The 8th Sibu International Dance Festival took place from August 13 to 17, 2019, featuring a range of activities including a welcome tea ceremony, dance lectures, workshops, outdoor performances, experimental theater, and dance soirées.
Beyond Bollywood was truly honored to participate in this international event, where we had the opportunity to exchange and share Indian dance with participants from over 10 countries. This experience not only allowed us to showcase Indian dance but also to engage in meaningful dialogues about the diverse dance forms represented at the festival. The festival served as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, enabling us to learn from each other and celebrate the universal language of dance. It enriched our artistic practices and deepened our understanding of global dance cultures, fostering connections that transcend borders and highlight the power of art in bringing people together.

BEYONDancing BOLLYWOOD 2019
Beyond Bollywood has long focused on promoting cultural and social integration in the city of Hong Kong. To further progress in transforming Hong Kong into a melting pot of culture and diversity, Beyond Bollywood presented BEYONDancing Bollywood Night. The main objectives of BEYONDancing Bollywood Night were not only to host an evening filled with cultural infusion but also to showcase a new collection of artists from Hong Kong and overseas, encouraging collaboration, idea exchange, and reflection. Furthermore, the event emphasized inter- and cross-disciplinary exchange to nurture the development of a sustainable and diversified dance ecology in Hong Kong in the long run.
The first part of the evening consisted of dance programs showcasing choreography created and presented by seven Indian dance forms performed by various artists. The dance forms included performances in Kathak, Contemporary Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Folk dance, semi-classical Indian dance, and Bhangra dance. After a short intermission, the second part of the evening featured the Hong Kong premiere of the dance drama, “A Journey Within,” led by three professional choreographers, teachers, and performers who elevated their love of dance to the next level.
