We shared the Indian culture with secondary students through several interactive and educational sessions including Indian Folk arts and Bollywood dance to get a glimpse of understanding on exotic culture.

Studio visited by students from CUHK
A group of master degree students from Cultural Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) paid a short but rich visit to our Tai Po Arts Centre studio on 13 Nov 2021.
We are always exciting to have meaningful dialogues with the young generations. It is good opportunity to build bridges across the different sectors.
AWAKE Indian Dance Festival
AWAKE Indian Dance 2021 was a consecutive 6-day events with more diversified and dynamic content in the format of hybridity. It took place on October 19-24, 2021 in the spacious performing arts facilities of Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre BLACK BOX THEATRE to unit the dance community for a week of different themed dance performances, networking, book launch, community tour, online and offline dance workshops, Indian Folk Arts Workshop, dance science and medicine workshop, film screenings, open rehearsals, exhibition with the aim to build a stronger presence for Indian dance in this city and also become a bridge between local and global Indian dance artists to strive for international visibility.
Tai Po Arts Centre Open Studio Day ‘Back To School’
Organised by Tai Po Arts Centre and participated by 12 tenants which jointly offered free experiential and interactive activities on 19 Sep 2021 (Sun).
Summer Bollywood Dance Camp
The Camp was completed successfully before the new school term! This time, we arranged a little showcase for our children to perform for their parents, so to keep a good memory. The children started from scratch to master a song, and they were all confident on stage, their dancing talents were spotted even during practice. Beside dancing, Mr. Day Day had prepared group sharing session, which is a good chance for the children to practice oral English too!
New spot for regular dance classes in Kowloon
Cooperate with Centre For Community Cultural Development, we organized various Indian dance courses, including Bollywood Dance, and semi-classical Indian dance courses!
We offered courses for Young Old for the first time, which is suitable for those aged 50 or above. The joyful dance moves reveal the energetic and creative sides of the young elders. They are able to exercise safely under the guidance of the instructor with Indian dance movements, to enhance the body coordination, balance and muscle strength.
Arts Go Digital : Dance Virtual @ Tai Po
The interactive online platform serves two purposes: to connect the community of Tai Po and to create an unconventional theatre experience for the viewers. The website uses VR technology to take the viewer on a self-determined tour route, in which they explore representative heritage sites and activate dance performances associated with specific landmarks. Some of the backdrops are shot with 180-degree panorama, which creates the illusion of the viewer being present at actual location. Online dance tutorials with adjustable speeds are also available for viewers to learn Bollywood dance moves and discover Indian culture.
Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme: Everybody Can Dance
This Scheme was sponsored by Leisure and Cultural Service Department and the first time our project was selected. After the gradual easing of lockdown, we grasped the timing to complete 10 dance visits with different sectors and ended with the last part of this Scheme - Closing ceremony which was held on 4th Jun 2021 at Tsuen Wan Town Hall.
Arts-in-school Partnership Scheme - Ho Dao College
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme was turned into an online initiative - a 45min pre-recorded showcase co-created by the students, teachers, curator and our dance artists.
The video was then used as the dance materials for the teachers and students who are interested to review it anytime and anywhere.
Formally started all the regular dance classes at Tai Po studio
After more than a year of residency at Tai Po Arts Centre, we started our regular dance classes with a range of various dance styles to cater for different aged and levels of dancers starting in end-March.
Tai Po Youth Online Festival 2021
Co-presented by Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Tai Po District Council, ‘TPYAF2021onArtCloud’is a brand-new virtual experience with various performing arts tenants at Tai Po Arts Centre to initiate different online activities including ‘Arts Studio X Tai Po Arts Centre’, ‘Learn Together’, ‘Interactive Workshops’ and ‘Virtual Experience’.
