Tai Po Arts Centre Performance

BEYOND Bollywood was invited to perform for the Tai Po Arts Center special event in August. The theme our performance was "Indian dance : From classical to Bollywood", showcasing different types of Indian dances including Bharatana, Folk dance and Bollywood dance; performers include Mrudulasya, Raas n Rhythm, and Krystal Chow presented an extravagent Indian dance performance that breaks through the limitations of age and race.

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

This summer, BEYOND Bollywood participated in one of the largest art festivals in the world - Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The performance was co-curated by artists from Hong Kong and Edinburgh. The theme was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, interweaving different styles of Indian dance and Chinese dance to explore the true meaning of freedom.

July

Solo play "My life on the Fringe"

In July, we staged the first local Indian dance-themed solo play - "My Life On the Fringe". The premiere show held at the Tai Po Art Center studio was well received. In November, the show was again performed at the Centre for Community Cultural Development and Hong Kong Baptist University. The play explores issues such as racial discrimination, Hong Kong history, and environmental conservations.

YAMA Foundation Accessible Wellbeing Online Conference

The YAMA Foundation invited us to be part of the 2022 Accessible Wellbeing Conference. The online event surpasses the limitation of time and place. Through this opportunity, we enthusiastically shared the joy of Indian dance with different communities.
